EU AI Act readiness

The EU AI Act is the first comprehensive regulatory framework for artificial intelligence. AI-Guardian is built as a control layer that sits between employees and foundation models, giving compliance teams the evidence they need.

Why this matters in 2026

The AI Act entered into force in August 2024 and phases in obligations through 2026 and 2027. For most European companies, the question is no longer whether ChatGPT is “allowed” at work — it is: can you prove how it's used? The Act demands demonstrable governance even when the AI system itself is provided by a third party.

Where AI-Guardian fits

AI-Guardian helps organisations meet three clusters of obligations that repeatedly appear in internal compliance assessments:

  • Data governance (Art. 10). On-device detection prevents personal data, health data, and financial identifiers from leaving the corporate browser, reducing the scope of data the organisation inadvertently becomes a data provider for.
  • Transparency and user information (Art. 13 & Art. 50). The blocking modal shows employees, in plain language, which category of sensitive data was detected and which regulatory framework applies. This turns every prompt into a teachable, auditable moment.
  • Human oversight (Art. 14). High-severity detections default to blocking, not auto-approval. A human decides whether to redact, rewrite, or cancel — and the decision is logged for the Admin Dashboard.

From policy to evidence

The AI Act rewards operational discipline. Policies in a Notion page are the minimum; regulators will ask for logs. AI-Guardian produces that log automatically: every detection event carries the category, severity, platform, and mapped framework, and lives in a tamper-evident table your DPO and CISO can query directly.

General-Purpose AI and high-risk systems

Even when your organisation only uses general-purpose AI (GPAI) systems such as ChatGPT Enterprise, Art. 25 obligations can be triggered when employees use GPAI outputs in ways that feed a high-risk process (HR decisions, credit scoring, medical triage). AI-Guardian's framework tagging flags those categories early, so your compliance team can intervene before a shadow-AI workflow becomes a regulatory finding.
